Hello Everyone,

Today I hunted a field not far from the college that in the past, has produced a few old coins. The ground was a bit tough, but the Raptor 25 C pushed through the “slightly frozen” ground. After a 2 plus hour hunt only two old coins were recovered from the cold dank soil: toasted 1897 V-Nickel and toasted 1903 Indian Head cent. Today, I used the Minelab Quattro with a Sun Ray 8” coil and a “special” coin discrimination program to allow only nickels and higher toned coins, just for fun.

Thanks for looking,

GL & HH

Good job cutting through the icy soils for those keepers, Doc..........:icon_thumright:

Hello Tabman,

Not yet, but if the weather gets too cold, most of us move into the woods and hunt old cellar holes. For the most part, you can hunt all year baring any large accumulation of snow since the woods do not freeze like the dirt.

Regards,

Doc
