Went to the folks yesterday afternoon to visit the folks and have Christmas dinner. I took along the newest detector-a Tesoro DeLeon. While relaxing after a good dinner, I took the detector out to their back yard. It's not real big, about 50'X50' and I've hunted it before with a Discovery 3300. I got a signal which turned out to be a length of pipe that ran to an old concrete fish pond that was dug up and filled in during the late 50's. I got the next and only other signal about 10" from a large birdbath. It was about 5" down and at 1st was hidden in the dirt brought up. After getting it into the light, I could tell that it was the shape of a token and also aluminum which has a problem in this area of corroding something fierce.
Looks like maybe I should go back and run in SuperTune mode. Who knows what else lurks in a small yard. I just didn't want to tear up the folks landscape so was being careful. Mom, thanks for not putting the birdbath in my way.
It may be hard to see in the pictures but it says:
On the front: Anderson Drug Co. Blackwell O.T. (Oklahoma Territory)
On the back: Good for 5c In Trade
I also discovered that it is not listed as a known token in the Catalog of Oklahoma Tokens by Lloyd C. Walker.
Thanks for looking. P.S. Dad is doing quite well, he's off O2 and pretty much appears fully recovered.
