I gridded just over 1/2 Acre today in 5 hours. I had 50 buttons, so 1 every 6 minutes average. With all the junk I was probably putting stuff in my pouch every 2-3 minutes. So you can easily work out its not Low & Slow for me, I would rather cover the area quickly. Something that suits my ploughed field MO. Something to think about if you spend a lot of time on your knees with a pin-pointer. A pin-pointer wastes precious time, in a ploughed field your best learning without it.

Broken Jetton
Neolithic Flint
Livery Button
1960 Pigeon Ring
1575 Lizyy Sixpence (heavily clipped)
Cut Qrter Hammered Short-cross type
Broken 1686 foreign hammered

Actually we have just passed last years hammered total already & the buttons are going strong this year as well. It's the Roman Silver that we are struggling with & no Celtic Silver yet.....

I'm glad you got some hammered coins Crusader, I'm guessing there's probably more still to find.
If you need a hand let me know [emoji6]
Steve

P.s a button every 6 minutes!.....those guys needed better tailor's

Yeah I've been on a few club digs which had the fields contaminated , personally I prefer the fields with fewer but better finds....only so many bits of Ali I can dig without my head dropping.
You going back for another go?

At this point I covered so much we may as well finish it all off, as it will take us both less than 2 hours. That's tomorrows first job. I've just heard from Land-Mag & we will do some scouting on new fields(today), so I can work out where Cru'dad & I settle down. This has been a strange harvest & I've never felt so lost. We should know exactly where to be with all the planning that Cru'dad does on tracking the crop rotations of circa 700 fields.

Looking forward to seeing what today unearths , I'm not getting out today as I've a family party to attend... withdrawal symptoms imminent. [emoji51]
