I started today on what started out to be a old pre-civil war log cabin that has been built around with rock and more modern lumber, leaving the original log enterior as inside decor. The outside is very decieving, deffinitely not HGTV material, but still an old site nonetheless. I didnt find anything historical or eye-catching, but I have moved well above digging nails, glass shards, and tin roof clippings. Today I dug pistol and rifle shell casings, a very old chain (between 1930's -1950's) and a Peterbuilt truck tag. I had to stop detecting this site because incidently, the owner is having the house worked on and I just happen to know one of the wise-guys working on it. He thought it was good sport to shoot nails from his nailgun into the path that I was detecting.
I think I will wait until they finish the job before going back again.
