Well its Christmas Eve . The weather is unbelievable outside in Chicago. Upper 40's. Perfect for the Quest for 150.
Started out at a soon to be torn down house. VISCERAL ( Pat ) met up with me there. About 45 min into the hunt
I got #149 a 1945S Washington Quarter. After a bit we decided to head over to an Old School. With not much luck
there and the stomach growling we got a bite to eat. From there we headed over to where I found my 1901-O Quarter.
After about an hour there I pulled out a 1873 I H ( poor cond. NO LIBERTY which meant no Double Liberty ).
The 1873 I H is now my Third Oldest Coin in all my years of M D.
I kept sticking to the PARKWAY AREA since I have my best finds in them.
Just a NOTE *** When hunting don't shy away from those out of the way spots. They always yield a find or two. Most
hunters stay away from Parkways and do the open fields thus leaving good finds still in the ground. Always remember that
there is always a lot of activity done between the street and sidewalk.
About 1/2 hour later # 150 came to see the light. It was a nice cond. 1943 MERC.
I also found an Old Wooden fishing practice plug.. and a very weird looking Bottle Cap..with a tab sticking out
thus making it almost looks like a baseball hat .
ANY IDEAS on it
I will let VISCERAL post his finds. Hey pat I had a great time hunting today. Congrats on your finds too.
THANK YOU ALL
