After nearly 50 days of no rain to speak of, it rained pretty good yesterday & rained most of the 5.5 hrs we detected to day. Much nicer detecting conditions.
The first picture is Cru'dads 3 small scrappies on a scouting mission to a site that is currently Wheat Stubble. (1.5 hours)

Today we returned to the field where the 2 Roman Silvers came from, but before we started on that we gave a new field nearby a try. Although it wasn't that great, I did get a silver sixpence after only a short 1 hour 15 min hunt.
We wanted to work out whether we had another Roman Site, but after hours (4 hrs 15 mins) of gridding & exploring, the only conclusion we could come up with was that the few scattered coins over a large distance were associated with a long gone track-way.

Broken Crotal Bell
2 Roman Coins - Ses. of Ant Pius, & Tetricus I Ant.
Broken Medieval Thimble
Broken Medieval Buckle
Large early 13th C Horse Harness Pendant with flower design. (new type for us, & 1 of the earliest types produced)8-)
1697 Sixpence - Better than average condition for these ground found ones.
1567 Sixpence Lizzy I
Ed I Hammered Penny

:icon_thumright: very nice finds.

With some rain things get better soon. Great silvers!

Never one to disappoint, Cru..congrats on those 3 silvers...stunning. Just remember, most of your finds on an "off" day would be banner finds over here. Thx for sharing, Ddf.

Oh man very nice OLD silver! :icon_thumleft:

Always amazing history. Thanks for sharing, Cru.

Some really nice finds,, dont think there is any of that stuff around here.
Congratulations

It was a surprisingly tough field to work out & we had hours of nothing. There was a mixture of a bit of luck & some good field craft that saved the day.

Nice silver. Congrats

Congratualtions on the silver and relics! :icon_thumleft:

Congrats to you sir. Very nice, as usual. Thanks and good luck.

The long awaited rains always bring up nice old silver.

beautiful finds Cru. 50 days no rain, that is like a drought in England isn't it?

Too Cool!!! Congrats!!!! Wow!!!!

Beautiful coins! Nicely done!

Nice sixpence Cru, good to see a larger hammered come out of the field still round and flat.

No drought conditions as such because of the high water levels & deep water reserves at the beginning. It has however been the longest heat wave on record & the worst I have ever experienced. HATED IT.

Congrats on your silvers Cru, but what I really like is the early 13th C Horse Harness Pendant with flower design!
Here's one I found last year on a farm in Pickering, ON although mine is probably only mid-19thc.

These square plates are interesting, love to now what you think they might be? :icon_scratch:

Hope you and your Dad are both well,
Dave
