All clean from there disgusting smelly river scum past. But these finds are not as exciting as the op Lyon's bottle I posted yesterday. But I did find my first ginger beer and an interesting black ale and early food jar. I'm gonna be heading back down there soon. So here's the goodies. Thanks for looking - justin

Heck, I'd say you did very well. Awesome group, awesome variety.

In how long a stretch of river did you find these? If they were all super close together I'd be thinking dump, especially since most of them are in the same 1890-1910 (give or take) manufacture period.

Here's the only keepers from today's river walk. A puce stubby Porter bottle. I think it has some real age to it. And possibly a new England piece and second is an awesome local apothecary bottle.

Your absolutely right the bank is a dump and with the ale and Lyon's bottle I found yesterday there's some real age at this spot. I just have to explore the undercut of the river bank.

Looking good!

RelicDude's onto something!

Awesome! I do a lot of river dump digging in the mud, and it's tough but rewarding

It really is tough but rewarding. I just think about the diseases I can catch from the river lol. Especially from the black silt that smells like death

I know what you mean! Around here a lot of times there's a lower layer of black gunk that smells like a mixture of kerosene and nasty decaying matter.

Great glass! Just be sure to wipe any cuts or scratches you get with an anti-bacterial like Bactine... no telling what germs lurk in these CT waters. I feel sorry for the wildlife that live in there!

The variety of bottles found and the range in ages is really something. We're there a lot of broken bottles mixed in? Sounds like you have found a very nice dump. My favorites are the two apothecaries.

I feel people were dumping here for years. And yes there's tons of shards mostly pottery pieces. And not really abm stuff either besides, modern beer bottles. The two apothecary bottles are new ones for me .

Really nice finds you got. Did you do any digging or was it all surface? I'm jealous of the Lyons for the hair bottle. I like the stoneware beer too. Also really nice drug stores.

Thank you much. The last two bottles I found scratching around in the mud. But all the rest were found in 6 inches to 3 feet of water. When I mean a river walk I'm walking in the middle of the river.

Well RelicDude, awesome finds. I'm a little jelly.

Wow! Well you earned them.
