The boat that was circling was from the company that holds an exclusive permit for salvage with NYSDEC, the man in black on shore was NYSDEC Enforcement observing.

They neglected to mention the helicopter buzzing the salvage boat or the warning issued by the DEC - "If you pull up one bar you will be arrested."

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but does anyone have an idea what the "electrified pole-vault pole" might be? Is this just something made up for an interesting story, or is there something with potential?
