I see the Naval Stores theory does not make their list.....

So many theories... So little treasure!

The leading theory by evidence of "ain't nothing but natural depressions from glacial runnoff and a lot of hype" isn't even mentioned. Cowards.

Yep...

A list of more realistic theories that explain the observed facts of Oak Island should include:

1. Naval stores operation
2. Natural depressions/sink holes
3. Fishing activity
4. Ship repairs
5. Farming

Any of those above 5 (or some combination of) would explain everything ever found on the Island that can be attributed to Pre discovery of "alleged" money pit in the 1790's

As compared to the list of 21 "theories" which they offer that have zero supporting evidence of any of them...

It really does "blow ones mind" that so many people, time and money has been lost searching for a treasure that zero evidence has been found exists on Oak Island.

At BEST a small amount of treasure was found by the original finders buried 10 foot or so underground (This is the only ever 'claimed' finds of treasure). Nothing has ever been found to support treasure buried lower than that.

How did people ever come up with so many wacko theories....

Excellent summary, now if we could only get the bozo brothers to listen.

This season seems to be a bit of a pivot: normally finding a pile of man-made stones would give way to side stories of Masons and their obsession with stonework "Look at the way that hole was drilled and the corner chamfered. The chamfer angle matches the angle of the Eye of Providence on the US dollar bill.". This season they immediately went to dubbing it the pine pitch pit.

Perhaps they have had enough of ridiculous speculation as well, and it may very well have been a pine tar kiln, but not like any I have ever seen

You bring up some of the best points.

If they were truly interested in solving the "mystery", the Evidence around them is abundant. It's how they choose to translate that evidence that is the crux of the problem. They have a narrative and a show to sell, so rather then honestly interpret the evidence, they bring in the masons, the knights templar and every ding bat association they can conjure up an "expert" for.

Evidence is abundant that supports, fishing, ship repair, farming, and previous occupants of the island. Have they ever presented any evidence that is consistent with treasure being buried there? Most of the "evidence" they bring up is evidence that supports prior digs looking for treasure, not treasure itself.

I was particularly taken aback, when after their blacksmith expert Carmen Legg conceded that since there was little or no difference in "civilian" or "military" ox shoes, so the ones Drayton found "could" be evidence of military activity, Alex then reported to the Brothers that Legg "thinks they are military"... The claim that "only" the "opulent" military would spend the extra money for having cast iron finials on their wagons or carts (if, indeed, that's what the object was) was rather a stretch, a well.
