Ok, So It took me about 3 days to finally calm down to post this topic. I dont usually post, (Except for my first walker post, which had a typo ^^;
But anyways, on to the story. So my New Years Eve. day began with a trip to my local bank to pick up 2 boxes of halves. (Funny thing is that I was so bummed about the banks being closed for the weekend, that I had to get 2 boxes) The purpose of these boxes? To entertain me in the car while accompanying my family to a theme park for the day.
Box 1: 5 40%'s
Box 2: 5 40%'s & 1 Walker!
This was my 3rd walker for the final month of 2010!
Anyways, due to crowds and whatnot, my family decides on a whim to forget the park and head to vegas and rough it all night without a hotel! =D Sounded like fun so I agreed.
Now the real story begins when we make a pit stop to get some gas. Funny thing is my family really hates my CRH addiction, but since my mom needed to hit the atm for some gambling money, she agreed to go to one right across the street. Now this bank was in the middle of no where, and my only reason for wanting to go was to dump the halves since I already knew of the 10% counting fees in their casinos =/ so I ask to use my mothers account to dump the coins.( Seeing as I am a non-member ^^; The moment I walk in I hear the "clank" sound we are all familiar with. The only difference was that it sounded like a bunch of them! and it was coming from a coin-lok bag a teller was dragging behind the counter! I walk up to the teller and quickly ask if I may see the bag, and she says sure. First glance, 2 Bens and a walker! I quickly ask if I may buy the bag... SHE SAYS SURE! She even says "Yea, I saw a bunch of old coins in there too if your interested... I think I saw a buffalo..." Before passing out from shock, I dump my halves and use part of the proceeds to buy this bag. Even my mother was excited! Turns out an old lady had just come in 10 mins before me and had dumped $300 worth of change she had gathered since she was a child! Was it fate

I waited 3 days till opening it! Simply because I wanted to savor the moment!!
The outcome:
19 Bens
1 walker
1 40% Ike
1 Peace dollar
5 silver quarters
13 buffalo nickels!
3 dimes ( 2 mercury, 1 rosie)
217 40%'s!!!
This New years has been the best yet! To think I was gonna have to wait a couple years to hit my first dream bag. But I do wish the circumstances could had been better... I thought the next day about why this woman would get rid of her collection after so many years?! Was it to pay bills? I couldn't help but feel bad because if she would had known then maybe she would had been better off? the other coins that were not silver were all clad ikes, so this was not just a random jar she was throwing change in....
