I have yet to have my first dig :)

Sorry I don't remember. I am positive it was made of metal tho.

It was a ring with a piece of metal attached. It was later I.D.ed as a pull tab. I was on top of the world.

It was either a 24K Diamond ring or a pull tab, I can't quite remember?? :dontknow:

A roofing nail.....I didn't keep it!!!

I'm lucky to remember what I dug last week, 45 yrs ago :dontknow:

Can slaw. My detecting friend found a dime.
Second time out I found a dime and my friend found a large cent.
Nearly bashed him with my detector. ;)
Peace ✌

What was the question again..:laughing7:

Clad penny. My first cool find that bit me hard was an old religious medallion found under a huge old tree, on the grounds of an old school. I still have it and fell hard right there and then.

My first find was farm tool that was a hammer, pliers, & nail puller all in one. Found at a distant cousin's dairy farm. It was covered in rust, but I was flying higher than a kite. I still have it somewhere.

Probably just a horseshoe... but then again I have a horseshoe phobia thing going on!

Old Budweiser can, 3 weeks into this and still no "good" finds but that will change in the next signal, I just know it!

You inspired me to go dig my first.......found 2 quarters in the front yard.........1974 and 1983.............

my first keeper was a zinc penny in my back yard, the day I got my first detector (see?)
also note in the photo, the plug is detached, setting in a Frisbee (so I could pass the whole mess over my coil?)
Way before my first pinpointer...! ah, memories!

How could you not remember your first find? Mine was some rusty needlenose pliers I found at an old garage site in the Summer of 1981. I was 11 then and gave them to my dad who soaked them in Kroil for a couple days and got them working again. He still has them after all these years too. :happysmiley:

I used one of these old Radio Shack detectors to start out.

HAHAHA! We were living in Star Valley Wyoming and the wife bought me a radio shack special for about 40 bucks. Sat in the garage for about a year. The kids and I decided to walk down to the new fairgrounds after they pushed around some of the old dirt to look for old bottles. First signal and dig was an 1891-S Seated Dime.........That was 2002. Been hooked ever since and now playing with my 6th machine I think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tongue3:

Don't remember my first find, but CLEARLY remember the moment I popped my first coin from the dirt. Found this one with a Jetco Huntmaster back in the spring of 1974. Took it home to show my parents, then into the coin holder it went.
