Hit the parkways with Mayo and Neil yesterday for some dusty digs. Man the signals of those mems under 6" of brick-hard dirt...

Did get a barely dated 1916 buff and a couple late wheats but the shinies eluded us.

Hit a couple totlots on rotation this morning, got a good pile of vendoteria fodder and a Norge 1 Krone dated 1998. Got one more stop this morn then it's kickin' back and watchin' Da Bears.

Da Bears took one! Just pre-game we had to drop a lot fo stuff back at the library and drop some postal notes at the P.O.. With wife in tow I noticed a section of sidewalk torn up in front of the local, very old Hotel Douglas, now a senior retirement center near the P.O. so I hit it and got this Bank of Montreal Half Penny token. No date yet, still tryiong to soak the gunk off it but my last one was from 1844 and this one has to be close in date to that.

Re: The weekend so far

Hey Tim, nice ginds. I've gotta say, though, that that buffalo has got a pretty good date. I saw 1916 right away. Most I find don't look as good as that one! Go Bears!

REALLY NICE BUFFALO , WTG ! VERY NICE BOM COIN!!

Those are some nice finds, and that half penny token is great.   I'd never seen or heard about them before you posted yours.

Thanks for the invite and hospitality,Tim! It was good to get out and swing with you and Mayo again!

Yeah buddy! These BOMHP's were only made in 1844 and 1842 and now I've found two of them in Elgin. They are about the same size and weight as an LC so I was hoping it was one of them but I'll take it.

Nice finds Lowbats......Love that Indian too

Another great hunt my friend with some sweet finds!!!!

I'd like to see that token again when ya get it cleaned up. Nice hunting Tim!

I think I'll be cleaning this one with the dremel John. It was in a matrix of cinder, clay, gravel and oil and it has a hardened crust on it. Maybe I'll shock, gona give it the ultrasonic treatment tomorrow. Here's a shot of it with my other BOM half penny token.
