What I need is a company that will produce much higher resolution still photos than that video! And also infrared images exceeding 1 meter in resolution. And I would be happy to pay for such products, but they are not available to the public at any cost. Please prove me wrong, anyone.

I just brought it out, and no one is coming after me. :laughing7:

It's a commercial (for money) site. The military has their own satellites and the resolution is much, much better of course.

This one is in video, which I think is useful, as it says. Pretty soon the entire earth will be viewable in real time. Actually, it may be already - but not for us.

from:
Satellite imagery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The latest commercial satellite (GeoEye 1) has a GSD of 0.41 m (effectively 0.5 m due to United States Government restrictions on civilian imaging)."

I don't see any restrictions mentioned, and in case you can't afford them, you could probably weasel some university access to them.

Let's face it, the world is watching!

A little bit better resolution and access to still images would certainly help my treasure research! Thanks for posting Bum Luck!

You're welcome, Arizona Bob!

Yeah, you can spend a lot of time doing that, and it may pay off. Or not.

Having a friendly smile and a cheery handshake (and a bit o' Irish luck never hurt) may get you in the door of some decent Hi-res photos. And maybe make a friend or two.

Still, nothing really takes the place of insect dope and feet on the ground. At least it's fun!

HH!
