photo.webpphoto2.webpAt first I had no idea what I was looking at...then I started to see it...size is right and edges are grooved like normal coinage...this is one sad coin. Still worth its weight in silver you think?

Yeah that's in rough shape alright....unfortunately. Is the reverse in the same condition?

Great find though.....did u get that in a half box?

The whole thing is crummy, the first picture is the reverse! lol

I actually got it as a reject from a coin counter back in 2009. Scooped it up and was like - what the heck is this? Took it home and threw it in a drawer and forgot about it until this evening.

well u didn't even have to pay fv for it so u cant beat that.....it is a seated half dollar right? If it is its at least worth its weight in silver like u said.....too bad its so rough looking though because otherwise it would be worth more than that.

Btw, I found a really slick Peace dollar recently that isn't quite as worn as your coin but its pretty worn and slick too....lol

I am fairly certain its a seated half based on the outline of the front...the reverse gives no indications. As I said previously, it is the right size and the edges are grooved like a normal coin - I was also thinking it could have been some poor attempt at a counterfeit from a sand cast or something but I think the uniformity of the grooved rim discounts that theory.

That is a seated coin no matter what condition it is. Seated liberty coins are a very great find to make.:)

Em, for this one we need about 2 spaces left of "wack" on your chart. Please reorganize the chart and report back sir.

I would be happy to trade you a really nice '64 Ken for it. I'm sure based on AG content you'll end up ahead. Maybe two 40%ers is more appropriate. Very cool.

Appears to be a seated lib to me. Take the gram weight less -10% for severe wearing. Should be in the ballpark. Silver is silver, regardless in what condition, even if it was raw mineral. Does it sound silver when dropped?

It's a seated! Nice! It counts for extra CRH points because it's a reject find! (I don't know where I got that.. LOL) Still sweet!

It does sound like silver...and darn, too bad I missed 50Cents CRH awards for 2013...I think a reject Seated half would have put me somewhere in there!
