Saw the Zombies live in 1965 at a WAPE radio show in Jacksonville, Florida. They were right on live.

Up until the Zombie's 1965 "She's Not There", the British invasion was 4/4 with an accent on the back beat.
"She's Not There" employed a 5/4 timing, a jazz timing created by Dave Brubeck's "Take 5"
"I Want You Back Again" is also in 5/4.

Most critics claim "Whenever You're Ready" by Zombie bassist Chris White as the bands best song.
White also wrote "Leave Me Be", another great song with a good clean guitar lead by Paul Atkinson, that complimented Colin Blunstones's breathy vocals.
Pay attention to drummer, Hugh Grundy, many of his accents are on the off beat, a jazz technique that was not common of other British invasion bands of that period.
Combine this Rod Argents keyboard work, and the songs he wrote for The Zombies, this band deserves a second look as a major music influence of the '60's. Wish you all could have been there.
