I dug these two one pounder cast iron shot at a Rev camp. Both have British broad arrow marks.
Based on what Ive seen at a Ticondetoga display, I assumed that they were cannonballs. But now Im being told they are likely grape/canister shot.
Each one is a hair under 2" diameter and just a tad under 1 lb. (.92 and .85)
Can you expand on this and help me out?

Those 2 cleaned up really nice, congratulations on the recoveries.

Certainly top self display items.

Great job on the restoration. They cleaned up well and am sure you will get an I.D before long. I have never seen that stamp or can I find a like example.
Good luck its pretty cool.

Can I ask how you managed to clean them?

Electrolysis. I made a new set up, bending mikd steel all the way around the inside of a pail. I took a large spring clamp, and ground one end to a point, and bent it over inward. This gave it good contact on the cannonball.
I coated the clamp with 4 layers of spray on plastic so all the current would go to the iron.
