These are a couple of the local predators. The available food sources are pretty good out in open space country with plenty of winter provisions in the way of rock pigeons, cottontails and prairie dogs. They blend in so well to the terrain which allows them to be successful.

I once found the front half a little kitty named Mickey. At least that's what the tag on his collar said his name is. Had a phone number also. Fortunate for me a couple of boys came by on their bikes and they volunteered to call the number and inform them about the fate of Mickey the cat. I really didn't feel like doing it.
