Some iron that I have dug up recently...

A very fancy door from a wood burning stove...7" square

I have found over 20 of these mining pick heads, but this is the first with the manufactures name on it. Beall Bros Alton, Ill's. Also the owner scribed his initials on it...M.L.

I have found quite a few king pins, but this is the first with a round head on it. Other king pins are all round, but this one is more rectangle with rounded edges. If this is not a king pin, then correct me.

Only the black smith would know why he chopped a crosscut saw blade into this shape. Possibly he needed the steel for another project.

A scythe blade. Found at a place called Hayfield Hollow.

Cool relics :icon_sunny: The stove door is in excellent condition. Inscribed picket head adding character to the relic :icon_thumright:

Man, I love that old iron. :icon_thumleft:

BuckleBoy, do you remember a couple years ago when someone found parts of an old stove, hauled them out and put it back together. He posted the rebuilt stove on Tnet. I make a habit to carry out the fancy legs too.

Is this the one?

Yeah, that's it. I thought he had shown a photo of it reconstructed. Must have been the whole ones that are shown that I remember. Man, how fast 3 years go by!!

Nice finds!
That's some ornate work for sure. They sure had some craftsmen back then.
