People I detect with always laugh at me grief when I get pumped finding Wheaties, but I love em' especially the older dates.
There are enough key dates to keep me hoping.
My version of a White-Trash-Instead-Of-Buying-Lottery-Tickets-I-Dig-In-Dirt method of dreaming my little dream.
They did stop laughing when I managed two 09-s VDB's.
Then laughed again when I shredded a 1914-D with my lesche.

Great haul on the wheatys  I love finding them wheats, if I'm alone I don't even look at the dates until I get home for the surprise of it.

I like wheaties, helps me age and area and gives me hope that silver resides there as well. Out of the thousands of wheaties I've dug over the years I've never dug a key date one. Cruddy...most of the 16 I found today are so crusty I can't get a date off them.

Cool finds!!

A lot of wheaties and no silver or clad in one area usually means some scumbag cherry picked the silver on ya.

I went back again this evening and got 5 more wheaties and a 1939-D Merc...a guy in my detecting club came too and found two wheaties and a gold earring.

Try the hot Hydro-Peroxide bath. Well done!! :occasion14:

Way to go CM , congrats on the wheat pennies and the Merc nothing wrong with finding wheat pennies.

Hope you get to hit it again, CM. Sure seems like there might be something special waiting to surprise you. Every time I read about how easy it is to miss ground and targets no matter how carefully you overlap search patterns, I am not sure a place can ever be truly hunted out.

Nice pile of wheat's... Congrats and I would agree that there is silver there!

I came close to a key date today 1909 V.D.B only thing I needed was the S so close, Good hunting....
