Thick in appearance

I have found alot of pennies that seem to be thicker in appearance compared to others and was wondering why that would be. Also I have a few that have a thicker rim on one side and it appears split. Thank you.

Lol Everytime I see one I just throw em in the tin. They are always 60s.

If you are talking about the letters of IGWT running into the rim, I believe that was an issue with the master die that was used to make all the other dies. As the dies age, the letters can get distorted and larger.

If I remember correctly, a new master die was made in 1969 because of this issue.
