Digging out a lot of 'regular' stuff from a site that started off very promising.
(17th C buckle & Quartz Point)
Most interesting is the thin sterling band, no idea what it was for, cigar band? :help:
Lead/pewter button with gilt (or brass layer?) intact, no features except border left.
8" X 10" floral embossed brass sheet, has an attachment piece/clasp,
Victorian book cover ?
cuff size 1 piece eagle, and a big tombac button, jumbo intact compact...
Better days are comin, I can feel it
HH all

Those are really cool finds. I love the shiny brass. It always gets the heart to pumping when your pulling it out of the water like that.

hey!! leave some for the next guy!! :laughing9: thats alot of digging  Usually when I find A mill site thats the kind of stuff thats piled up next to A tree from prior hunters. Good score on the silver band.

You notice most stuff didn't make it into the house :laughing7:

Cool Finds! :icon_thumright: I recently found a latch like yours in the 1st pic bottom left maybe from a old trunk ?

Nice finds SHW. :icon_thumleft:  That piece of sterling Silver is from Birmingham, England. If you could tell me what the last letter is on the Cartouche I could identify the year....I cannot quite make it out, it looks like a capital "B" but I'm not exactly sure. From the style of the shield that the letter is within it looks like the date will range somewhere in the 20th century.

Here's another example of your citymark from Birmingham, England which is the Anchor and Lion (The one below is from the year 1900 as denoted by the style shield with lowercase "a"):

great stuff Sentinel ;D
Thanks to your info I was able to ID that piece as an 'Arturo Fuentes' Cigar band from 1925 :hello2: (uppercase A in upsidedown shield)
They still use sterling bands on some of their cigars.
Best digs to You!
Another ID, the 'Fitz' item is a piece of tinkers solder used to repair pots & stuff.
The patches are an often found item for me..

Nice (stuff) If the date letter is "B" it will be 1926. with that style of stamp. I havee found several strips like yours and always thought they might be a band for a cane or parasall
