tnsharpshooter posted a video this morning that was extremely helpful to me during my hunt today. https://www.treasurenet.com/threads/secret-sauce-with-manticore.691019/

The video showed me how to raise the target ID on the Manticore to help find targets that are masked by iron. I made the changes to the machine and off I went into the field. It was a good day! I found several interesting items including my very first Indian Head Penny. I was over in the field where the 1900's home stood. I found the penny in what was once the very small front yard. It's a nice looking 1889. I was shocked when I saw the shield on the reverse. Then I flipped it over and noticed I must have nicked the headdress.

Lots of can slaw again today and some iron. This pic is from right before I packed up for the day. this only shows some of the can slaw, most of it was already in my bucket. I fill the bag and return to the car to dump the bag in the bucket before continuing on.

I found a neat little dodad that folds. No clue what it could be. Also found a neat little round lead disc.

Two headstamps. UMC Challenge 1901-1907 and Winchester Leader 1894-1943.

Most of the rest I'm not sure. The giant brass pully just about blew my ears off.

Well done on the recoveries.
The one item could be a compass.
Similar to this.

I forgot to mention the lead piece.
Look closely around the edge for a spot of rust.
If there is I'll say it's a lead seal.
Though it has a game piece look also.

No rust anywhere. Never thought of a game piece.

Similar to this one I think. I'm just missing some pieces.

Congrats on your first IHP; from the 1800s no less. Such a great little coin.

If you have a gram scale weigh it just for the fun of it.
I thought it might be some sort of hem weight also for a curtain, though most have open centres.

Just how big is the brass bully/wheel?

The lead piece weights 0.9 ounce or 25.5 grams.

The pully is 4-inch diameter, one- and one-half inch wide. Weights 2 pounds or 56.7 grams.

Going to the 1700's portion of the field today with the new settings. I have high hopes that the Manticore will help me achieve another good day.

The only that comes to mind is an overhead track wheel off a sliding door.

Worth looking into. I've ruled out any type of motor pully as there is no keyway.

Found a pully on ebay that looks similar, smaller size. They say it was for rope. I could see that.
