Think this is a rare find for NJ shore!

We found this on the jersey shore yesterday. Not sure what kind of sharks tooth it is, but a pretty cool find for the area i think?!?!

Erosion. If the enamel is worn the crown would be worn more.

Note that "Mackerel Shark" when related to fossils refers to a Genus Otodus, and there are eight or nine known species within that. The largest (known) being the legendary megladon. They all have somewhat similar teeth (referring to what they ate: mackerel sized fish). Here's the whole set:
