Maybe... but - there are a ton of sword makers for masonic outfits and tons have been made - strictly ceremonial and very opulent.

Personally... without better pictures... good luck on an ID.

catholic knights of columbus sword * knights templer * (equal to the tyler's sword is masonic rites)--the door guard during rites * sword more for show than use but in a pinch it could be used as a sword.(weapon)

here are some more pics a little better but not much and thanks for the responds the only history on this property is there was a home build on this property in 1910 i bout the property 9 yr ago there is a old fresh water spring in cased in red brick that i clean out ever spring not more then 25ft from spring was the sword but that is all i know about the property for now

That thing must have been pulled up out of the dirt as that tree grew. Does make you wonder what else may be under that tree!
 

Most likely an Lilley, Ames, Henderson Ames, or some such maker. It's age may be mid 19th century, and by the looks of it - wow, it might be. Ames is STILL making these swords today... you'll find many with a google search and might find a match to this one.

That's probably the most unique discovery I've seen. Findin a sword alone outstanding, finding it in the position it was in is really cool!
