this afternoon's walk

howdy,
here are some high desert views...went out for a walk, got huck finned into playing with the road grader...once a month we move the rocks around, and make new pot holes... :icon_jokercolor:

while standing around, "guiding " the tractor...i took photos of some shards...sinagua again...
they don't let me drive the grader any more, i backed over the outhouse, :nono: now, i can only work on it...

Re: this afternoon's walk

Nice pictures pippin! I wish I was out there in AZ instead of here in AL, way better metal detecting out there.

Re: this afternoon's walk

You... backed over the .. outhouse?? Phew!!! Got a pic?? :D :D

Re: this afternoon's walk

yep, crunched the outhouse...he said back up... :icon_jokercolor:

metal detecting in arizona is fun...iron rocks everywhere...all that black sand makes my friends bounty hunter go nuts.
silvergoldsilvergold..stop swinging, iron...brass...there is nothing there...black volcanic ash...maybe some residue from the meteor crater strike?

al is sweet country..but...can't even go for walks in the woods without a machete.. :tongue3:

Re: this afternoon's walk

I got to visit the 'Meteor Crater' a few years ago, & went through Flagstaff, Phoenix & Tuscon.
Those towns have changed a bit since the 70's, ::) we had to go in July, not even a dog ventures out then. :icon_sunny:
Would like to go next time in the Winter.

Fossis...............

Re: this afternoon's walk

Ha! Ha!

Same way here, Fossis...

Any time I had business in AZ it was in July or August.
Just about like the surface of the sun!

How to tell a native Tucsonian from a tourist?
At the corner, while waiting for the lite to change,
a Tucsonian native stands in the shadow of the sign post!

;D

Re: this afternoon's walk

You can almost guarantee that a black car is from out of state.

Re: this afternoon's walk

Hey, looks like mine.

lol, finding shade is a survival skill...if you live here long enuff, you park you car so it is in the shade when you come back...not when you park it... :tongue3:

nice shard spawn...where did you find it? the color is a bit off for sinagua...

Re: this afternoon's walk

Found it here in El Paso Tx while detecting. I think it might be Anasazi.

Re: this afternoon's walk

that would make sense...trade goods...or brought down during the hopi expulsion...
