when I get my canoe-this will go with me. For a backup I can't decide if I want a golden Umax or a eldorado.
I like this canoe but I have to cross the border to get it and don't know what hassle I would have bringing it back into the states from canada.

I hear these are great canoes for tandem canoeing but for solo you have to put a lot of weight in the other end to keep it down so the wind does not grab it. My wife is retireing and wants me to get a canoe that we can both paddle but I know my wife will not want to do it later on.

The Tejon is an awsome detector!

Nice canoe we have a really nice one at our cabin in Canada...... I am going up for a week tomorrow cut through the French River in that canoe and take my GTI1500 with me........... So i think you will enjoy that canoe a lot along with your Tesoro..

Looks like your all set now... go get the treasures now..and have fun too.

You are going to love the Tejon, but the canoe I am not so sure about. You can get a 17 Coleman for less than half that price and it will be a lot lighter to get on top of the car. You have to think about getting it on and off by yourself too. Where to attach the guy ropes for hauling because todays cars don't have rain gutters to attach the side ropes, nor places to attach the fore and aft ropes.

I still have two canoes, a Coleman 15 footer and a great 12 foot, 42 lb. solo which I can't get into or out of anymore. Tried using a two bladed paddle, but it lacked something. I am saving the canoes for grandkids.

That bluewater canoe is light, mabe 37 or 39 lbs.
I went to look at the Wenonah Adirondack 16' that lists for $2600 but you can get them for a lot less and the kelvar only weigh 37 lbs. My problem is I would like to get a great smaller solo canoe.
I can still take my wife in it and she won't have to paddle. Oh well she thinks she wants to take these wilderness river trips and for that you need a guide type canoe or something that will carry a lot of supplies.

As far as the tejon-I know I will like it, I had one before and like so many of us here in the forum -I have had many others. It's just a matter of preference right now.
I want to take some movies eventually of these trips.

We are going to fly to San Diego for a week at the beginning of September and then when we come back we are going to drive up to Maine -have some lobster dinners and clams-Yum, Yum. I saw a canoe made by Old Town called the Guide that was wide and heavy.
85 lbs. Right, no portage for me but I was thinking of when we go to the Adirondacks next year for sure but If I can get there this year in a rental-I would like to look around. It's so darn beautiful up there. The new guide looks different than the ones you see on line-seats are not moulded and have backs on them if you want. Still worried about the weight though.
I can still pick up a horse but I wouldn't want to take a step with it.
