Any idea what material it is? size? other side of the coin?

I'm guessing its foreign, as I can make out "dercanden" on the left side

WOW, nice job Maiden... that fits what I'm seeing, I just mistook the L for a C.
 

I'm looking for a better match, definitely Nederland's but the letters are a little off. I'll post my findings.

Looks like you have some very good detail under some dirt. I can't tell from pix, but it looks like it should clean up and ID will be easy?

that's an understatement. Try posting your most esoteric find and see if people can't identify it! I'm constantly amazed looking in the What Is It forum.
