Got out yesterday to an old site that I haven't been to in years. The site is trashy, so I spent time away from the hole & was rewarded with these finds.

Pin says C.B. Manuf. Corp, if anyone can find out any info as to what this company made, I'd appreciate it, as I looked and came up empty.

The other piece looks like it was some kid's souvenir, says Philidelphia and what I guess were the kid initials AL.

I don't know anything but in the book, "American Military Button Makers and Dealers" there is a company listed as "Canfield, Brother and Co." Although most show
"Canfield Bro. & Co. Baltimore" (Button backmarks) Some show C.B, & Co. Baltimore. Dates listed are 1834-1880 and considering the numbers and writing it could be that time period.

The '187' tag says CHESHIRE. Good chance it refers to Cheshire, CT. in the same area where you are.
I suggest you contact Diane Calabro, Cheshire's current town historian--or contact the Cheshire Historical Society.
Don in SoCal (once from New Canaan Ct.)

Thanks Don!
