Only got in about 6 hours in this week but I did make some fair finds. Nothing amazing but I did find two 1/2 kreutzers. One has a historic date,1814(Battle of New Orelans) . Of course the coin has nothing to do with the battle but that was the first thing I thought of. The Johnny Horton song was playing in my head.LOL I had only found one of these before and all of them are different. :) I got one worn silver coin from the early 1800s (date hard to read) and one real nice cuff button. The thing that surprised me the most was finding a little cork bottle on top of the ground and in one piece! I also dug a small vile with a metal top. I think the vile contained grease for rifles but not 100% sure. I try to shoot out to hunt after work but by the time I get on site I have about an hour till I can't see . I hope I can get a full day in after Thanks Giving!! Wow I can't believe the holidays are upon us again. Time flies. I hope everyone is doing well and thanks for looking.

Bird I remember those metal detecting magazines of the early 60's. In one of them was the first article I ever saw on metal detecting in England. Back then one could just walk into most any city park and hunt.

Man, did those every THers absolutely kill the awesome stuff! I remember one guy saying he had to quit THing after a few hours because he was so tired from digging so many coins and medals.

Oh, if only we could travel back in time and take today's quality machines with us (and return of course).
