Thought it was a really great shard...not!

For a few minutes I thought I had found my most awesome shard ever! Imagine my dismay when it turns out to be a piece of tree bark but shortly after I did find a real pottery shard so kinda made up for it.


This one is the little shard that is real lol

First one looks like some type of broke turtle shell or skull fragment from cow or something. Nice shard.

I think it is turtle shell or fragment of skull from cow /deer. Don't know why it would smell like wood though.

I don't know...maybe because it's been underwater for a long time.

I once spotted a really cool orange clay trade pipe laying just under the shallow water in the Flint River just south of Albany Georgia. When I saw it, my heart raced and I quickly pulled it from the gravel bar and was very happy to have something new to add to my collection. After I pulled it from the water, I sadly discovered it was an orange rubber cover to a lawn mower spark plug. So goes the world.

Too funny GaRebel! After it rains and I'm looking down in the creek from the top of the bank, usually 8 to 10 ft or more down, I would swear I see points and shards and then get down there for nothing but a rock lol
