I have a three dot jar. What is the significance of the dots? I've seen 4 dot, 5 dot, and one advertised as 6 dot, but couldn't see any dots on that one. I'm confused.

Moldmaker's marks? Coinciding with a particular year of production? Don't have a clue really. Maybe a jarhead out there can be of help. Great jars you're pulling out these days.

Thanks sandchip. Seems like I get a surprise every time I visit there. My heart almost stopped when I pulled that "BLOCK" lettered Ball, but it is not the oldest Block style. I also want to get under the raised portion where they kept the horses. Surely they got thirsty building that barn. It will be a belly crawl, but I'll also try to detect under there.

I have wondered about those dots as well.....That's a good jar there:thumbsup:
