three examples of zonate markings on stone

Industrial tiles or natural wear?

industrial in what way? i've heard of conical polishing stones being used in the area and often dumped as fill afterwards although i'm not aware of any processes that would lead to this sort of wear. unless you meant 'industrial' in a primitive sense..

In Hocking County, OH there are so many creeks flowing over Black Hand Sandstone with crazy impressions. Also since the stone is so soft you can see where early settlers chipped slots to drop in planks used to back up the water for small local grist mills. Much of this is now in the Hocking Hills State Park.
