THREE GOLD RING DAY

When I left this morning to metal detect I told my wife, half-kidding, that I wasn’t returning home without GOLD. In 5 previous hunts I came home empty handed, save for 3 silver rings and 2 silver ear rings. And boy I wasn’t disappointed. After a 4 hour hunt I returned home with not 1, not 2, but 3 gold rings!

The first 14k gold band at 2.46g was found in the first half-hour. It fits my wife’s small finger so I guess it is a goner. The second large (size 11-11 ½) 14k gold band (8.56g) was found about 2 ½ hrs into the hunt. The 14k Rose gold band (2.37g) was found as I headed for the car. The rose gold band was black, like heavily tarnished silver, when found. Also found half dozen pieces of junk jewelry and 46 coins. None of the coins were recent drops. Rather not mention the 40-50 pieces of junk; mostly pull tabs and parts there of that gave a heck of a workout recovering. Back for more tomorrow...if my back allows it!

Day 2

Never got to post the above thread so decided to add Day 2. After 4 hrs of water hunting found a nice white gold band (5.2g) and heavy silver ring (8.71g) in addition to the usual coins and way too many pull tabs. The white gold band almost blew my ear drums because of the strength of the signal (11 on Equinox 800 w 15” coil). My back is feeling the pain of digging over 100 targets each day and need to rest before heading out next week for more water “work-out”.
Happy Hunting

Well done on the gold recoveries. 👏
There's always an upside to the sausage fingers when the gold falls off.

Which machine were you using and what numbers did they show?

Nice work Lawrence....sweet looking rings !!

Hunted w Equinox 800 w 15" coil and Beach 2.
Large white gold band was 11.
Small yellow gold band was 13.
The rose gold and large yellow gold bands came in 18ish.
Could have mistaken last 2 for cents!
Published here at TreasureNet list of 20 or so gold rings w Equinox numbers few years ago and numbers ranged from 3 to 24, with positive correlation between ring weight and Equinox #; as weight goes up Equinox # goes up, in general.
Hunters have reported small gold rings as low as 1 and large gold bands as high as 26.

Impressive detecting, congratulations :occasion14:

I know what you mean about the back. I am 71 and when I get out of bed in the mornings I bend over at the waist with legs straight and stretch out the back and hamstrings. Works really well for me.

Excellent finds. Well done. :icon_thumleft:
