Once again, I was able to get Todd Lipe to take me on one of his "guaranteed to find silver" hunts... and once again, I found silver coins! It's like taking candy from a baby... FUN!

We met up early on Sunday morning and headed to a little hicktown, just up the road. The place has not seen much MDing pressure. I know this because I find silver coins every time I go there. We tried the usual places, parks, schools, vacant lots (tear downs) and a couple of old houses.

It was a good hunt for me. I was able to find:

(1.) Three silver dimes 1936, 1946 & 1956. (36 silver coins YTD)
(2.) Half dozen wheat cents.
(3.) Five "mill marbles". The mill uses these to make fiberglass.
(4.) Ring marked sterling with arrow through U makers mark.
(5.) Little pendant badge thingy. Griffin on the front. "WGERMANY" on the back, with a little snap. Any ideas what this is?

Once again, I owe Todd Lipe, a BIG 'thanks' for taking me on a killer hunt. It almost made up for him digging that SLQ, right in front of me on Thursday... Ouch, that stung.

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts.

Congrats on the 3 silvers and the other finds. :occasion14: Nice to see your still detecting often. Love this hobby and reading your posts.

Carolina silver is purdy! Keep them coming bud.

Steve

Good job tom, nice pile of coinage, don't worry too much about thay half, you scored a killer one here in PA!

Tom, I am writing you a prescription for remedial first grade math. You had a FOUR silver Sunday! Congrats on a great day. I am wondering if the WGerman item is a zipper pull that snaps into place when drawn to the top or bottom of the garment...Sub 8-)

I'm lining up another "guaranteed" Silver hunt real soon. Tickets will be available on a Limited basis, And very Pricey. Congrats Buddy, You spanked me pretty bad yesterday.

Thanks Sub. I didn't count the little ring, it only weighs a gram.. that's like $.52 in melt value.

I first thought "zipper pull" when I saw that griffin thingy, but I have never seen a zipper pull with a snap.

Thanks again for taking me hunting. I like that little "hicktown" a lot... it has put out treasure every time that I have been there. Sorry about the spanking, just trying to redeem myself after the abysmal performance I put forth on Thursday.

TBD... you are not helping... again...

Great job Tom congrats on all the silver I've been skunked so far this year. Keep it up.

Jeremy

Counting one, two , three, and a crunch ! 4 silvers to the chewy center ! :occasion14: On the number five item, my guess would be some sort of a purse. Thanks for sharing CT and happy :metaldetector: to yas !

I need more friends like Todd Lipe, with guaranteed silver haha!

Got some nice finds there Tom!

I love all the finds but I am actually pretty impressed by the two silver Rosies. For whatever reason, I don't pull as many of those as other silver dimes (which is okay.)

Great job on all the saves. Happy hunting!

Also, maybe the griffin thingy is a clasp for a change purse or a clutch?

Nice hunt CT. That silver total for the year is starting to climb.

PS - It's North Carolina, aren't they all hicktowns?? :laughing7: Just kidding man. I am from here so I can say that. :happysmiley:

Yep, All Hick Towns. Just kant say whice oun.

My family has been in NC for many generations, so I feel it is OK for me to goof on the local hillbilly types too. If you were to ask Northerners (Vino & CJON), you might hear that I am a bit of a hick myself! To answer the question, yes, most of the small towns are hicktowns!

How much grass do I have to mow to be included on one of these hunts? :)

There was no mowing involved in this hunt (Thank God), and you are always welcome to come hunt with me.
