Three weeks of fun in the fields

We had an early harvest here in Northern Illinois so I have been pounding some old sites and hunting a couple of new ones. The weather has been perfect.

Those are some great finds Merf! Is the 1853 dime an O? The holed silver is a half reale? Also, the coin dated 1863 looks like a design off an older gold coin.. Is that some kind of Civil War token? The rest of the coins and buttons are nice

If the holed silver is just slightly smaller than a dime, 99% chance that's what it is. The 1863 token is great and I believe it was designed after the Draped Bust gold coins

Way to go,some realy nice finds, its 6:15 am and I'm waiting for the sun to rise here in southern Illinois so I can hit a new field ,hope to have a few new items to post. But would be happy for just 1 of the recoveries that you posted.
