I have the tiger shark

OK so i have it ground balanced works great at the beach n surf but we are planning to go on the fort donaldson hunt this nov
soooo my questions are
on the hunt there will prob be not alot of trash in the are but i wann be sure my machine is tuned properly


When i balance it should there be no sound at all in and on the ground or should there be a slight buz

Is there a way without messing with sesativity to filter out trash in high trashy areas (right now it hits on everything) ?

Is there a sound difference between trash and good targets (i havent found that yet) ??

How far away should i stay from other tesoros on a hunt

Hi there. I will try to answer some of your questions based on my experience.

When you ground balance you should have the detector in all metal mode. In that mode you are listening for the threshold, the noise you hear, change as you lift the coil vertically off the ground. Adjust the ground balance knob until the tone doesn't change.

To discriminate just switch it to motion disc. the adjust the disc. knob to discriminate out what you don't want. I usually throw a nickel on the beach and turn the knob until the nickel just discriminates out and turn it back to where I can detect it. Don't mess with the sensitivity unless you have too.

There is no difference in the tone for trash or good targets.

Beachlooker is spot on! that's exactally the way i set mine up..if you disc out a nickle you will loose small gold. and you will get used to the crackle of junk. the Tiger Shark is a excelland detector for gold and it will find #4 buck shot.i wish it had ID tone but i guess ya cant have it all.LOL!
