Here's a couple more. The first is a ball that seems to be of a steel alloy that does not rust. It is a little smaller than a pea. The other is a buckle of some sort, I am wondering if it may be military related since it has stars on it. I found both in an area that I found Civil War buttons and relics. The last item also found there is about the size of a dime, appears to be made of a lead-like material, about 1/4" thick and has two broached holes in it. This one has me stumped. Thanks for the look.

I'd say the 3rd one is easy. A lead tamperproof seal, possibly from an orders pouch or satchel.

The 2nd may be a Corps Badge.

Maybe that's a horseshoe in the center of the second item? So a piece of bridle hardware? I sure like it 'cause it has all those stars!

#1 looks like a small fishing weight. #2 appears to be part of a clip off of a pair of suspenders. No clue as to #3. Monty

Stoney's right: the third item is a lead seal, unused. Could also be from a railroad. When the seal was crimped onto the wire, it usually was also embossed with identifying letters, numbers, or symbols, such as a railroad's reporting mark (initials). Mre info at:

Hi all, thanks for all your replies I appreciate the info. I guess the 1st item could be a bell clanger thats a great thought. I did find the first one in an area not far from water so a weight could be a good possibility too. The third one I would have to go with Stoney56 because I found this along with the other Civil War items and I am not aware of any railroad activity in that area....but you never know what someone may have been carrying on them. Thanks again for solving my mystries.
