Went back to the worked out Saxon/ Norman site today. As always signals were few, and small. The finds though covered a fantastic time range. The finds in oldest were, a bronze age spear tip, a worn roman copper coin, a late Saxon hammered silver coin fragment. And the curious coin of Henry III 1247-72. Someone as gone to the trouble of hammering the coin down in diameter, there's a heavy rim on the coin. At first I thought, it was a recent copy, but tested it and it is silver.
