So I know its a tiny silver spoon, but not sure what it was actually for. Pictured with a quarter, this is seems to say "sterling" on the back. I rubbed a little baking soda on it and parts started shining through but I didn't want to take all the silver off in case it was plated.
It seems too small to be a baby spoon, or to serve any real use.
It was found at a low tide spot where I usually find casting sinkers, iron mish-mash and a few badly corroded coins.
Tiger shark found it.
Also, there are two spots on the back where it seems something was spot welded to it, which makes it more mysterious to me.

Cool. Thanks. Maybe a small chain fastened it to a bowl. Such a strange location to find it on an ocean beach

Ha, yeah, maybe. Though, my gut feeling is that its use was the original purpose. This area is rocky and has old black mucky sand with lots of junk iron. Maybe people dumped trash there. Every coin looks like its silver at first because they come out black.

It looks a little to large to be a throw back to party times in the 1980’s….ummm.. I think it could be a small mustard spoon.

Yeah I think its a salt spoon after looking around a bit at pictures. Not sure of the weld marks still, though

I sold a couple mini spoon pins a while back. That would explain the weld spots.
