I have an item that my son in law found while looking for arrowheads on a farm in Fleming county, Kentucky years ago. He has asked around and shown it to numerous people with no help as to how old it may be or even what it is, or was used for. I was browsing the internet and found this site to be very interesting and informative, so I thought I would give it a try.

This first attachment shows the small skull item head-on. (Material is very light. Can't even tell that you are holding it.)

This last photo shows the backside and as you can see, the mouth hole does not go all the way through the piece. There is some sort of two-level notch on this backside. Any info would be appreciated.

My first thought was that it reminded me of the painting "The Scream" by Edvard Munch. Really neat find, but I don't know what it is or who made it.

I hope you can find out more. You have certainly come to the right place to have it identified.
