tips for the excal2

Set you discrimination on the minimum setting, this will make the machine reject iron targets and still pick up tiny jewelry. Dont run in auto setting, turn sensitivity up manually until it starts to give false signals when you move the coil up and down in the water just off of the bottom turn it back until falsing just stops.Turn volume to maximum. The machine might give a good signal on an item even though it might be deep piece of iron, but as you dig down deeper and the machine recognises the iron it will blank it out. Some times if a target is small you will get a very weak signal which will vanish when you dig it. Check your scoop carefully and keep digging in that area, I sometimes take the scoop full of dirt in shore and check it on dry land. Chains will slip through your scoop in the water so be careful. Remember chains and tiny thin gold will sound a very low dull tone like alfoil so minimum discrimination in essential to find these. You will know when you find a decent gold ring it has a sound all of its own it is almost a bong sound good hunting and good luck. I am just on my way out now down to the beach with my Excalibur will see how I go. seeya Neilo
