What is the current record for a Titanic item at auction?
I bet theyve found tons of stuff by now.

Well I guess the watch was just from a body, not found in the wreckage.
They make it sound like an artifact from the bottom.

^From what I found on the Net, it appears that the current record is the Gold Tiffany watch that was given to The captain of the Carpathia, Arthur Rostron. ($2M) But, this watch was probably in great condition because it wasn't fished out of the sea, and it wasn't really from the Titanic itself. It was just part of the story surrounding the sinking. John Jacob Astor's watch sold for L1.2M in 2024. I'm guessing that had water damage.
The violin played by bandleader Wallace Hartley as the ship was sinking sold for $1,7M in 2013. I imagined that was fished out of the ocean also.
It will be interesting to see what this watch sells for in the next few days. (Probably has water damage & might not be working).
