Toasted King George, and replica buttons (and I'm on a road trip adventure!)

Went up with Vino for his fund raiser treasure hunt, there were about 16 people there. Lots of really good finds. I found a toasted Large Copper, looks to me to be a King George. I nailed this one with my Leshse, still trying to get used to my CTX, although the soil is like dust, makes for a rough time pinpointing. I'm liking that machine, can't wait until we get some rain (can't believe I just wished for that, ha)
So I left that place and drove four hours towards Pittsburgh. I'm in a little town, took care of some business and went knocking on doors after a shower. I have two permissions, one is at a private residence, 1808 house, I have card blanch and will be there first thing in the morning, the other is a very old business with thousands of people going through since 1798, very predominate guest there over the years. I'm sure this place has been pounded, but who cares. I also have one maybe, 1920's house. I probably won't last much past noon, so keep your fingers crossed.

Enjoy the pix

Sounds like a fun day buddy. Good luck tomorrow. I've been researching all day and believe I have pinpointed the locations of between 18 and 20 1700s homesteads. I found a guy who somehow overlays maps onto eachother and is a master at picking out old cellar holes and such. He's also one of the best historians of this area. I have years worth of sites to hunt and tomorrow is a big one. One of my ancestors was a founder of this place in 1736. Hope my research doesn't suck lol. Hopefully we will both be posting tomorrow my brother, Abe

Good luck Bro!

Nice finds TB... and nice meeting you!

Good luck Treb. I'm home watching the kids and injured wife so hunting is not on my agenda for a while. Excitement for me would be to see you and others post some big fatty finds tomorrow!

-Happy Hunting!

Sounds like a nice line-up! Good luck with the hunts!

Safe travels and bring back a trunk full of goodies. G. L.

Can't wait to see what you find - how nice to have so many good sites to hunt !

so, are you happy with the ctx? quite a bit of difference from the pro to it. once you get it down, you will really tear the dirt up.

Congrats on the nice relics, it sounds like it was a fun metal detecting hunt.

Yeah, I have not been able to go to many of my old spots yet that I found silver in the past, I'm dying to do that. I like it, it gives me much more information, I have allot of confidence in it. I have a spot where I really believe there is deep silver there, just waiting for colder weather so less chance of chiggers.

I live about an hour north of pittsburgh. Just hoping you leave some cool stuff "unfound" for me....haha. A ton of history in the area, you should do well.
