I received an invite from renowned relic hunter and TNet regular, Mangum.
Saturday was a cool day in NC, a very rare cool day in July. I slipped up the road about 2.5 hours, and found myself on Tobacco Road! Here is my host in the tobacco field.

I'll start off with a hardy 'thanks' for the invite. We went to a couple of spots, one in the wood, the other was farm fields.
Here is a pic of all of the stuff I brought home.
- Saddle strap guide
- Harmonica reed piece
- Shoe buckle frame fragment
- Wheaties 191x & 1928
- 3 flat buttons
- Square nail
- 3 pieces of lead, maybe a smashed round ball
- Modern bullet
- Guilford point and lots of flakes

I don't often get to hunt older sites, so it was nice to find 3 flat buttons.

As soon as I saw this, I knew it was a piece of shoe buckle frame. Mangum agreed.

Whilst detecting the fields, I picked up dark flakes of chert or flint... the remnants of stone tool manufacturing. I was just amazed at how many there were.

Mangum took me to a wash, where he has found points in the past... sure enough, A Guilford point was just laying there on the ground awaiting my arrival.

It was quite an adventure, with lots of local history all around us, beautiful scenery and cool weather in July. I can not thank my host enough for the invite.
Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!
PS: Yeah, he spanked me, he found all of the good coins and a couple of cool relics too.
