I traded my M6 in and got a Vaquero. I had lots of fun and success with the M6 but the weight got to bothering my wrist and shoulder. I mainly am a dry land Jewelry and Coin hunter, so I was interested in a very light machine with a good discrimination, pinpoint, ground balance, stable and hot on gold. I thought I wanted a TID machine for sure until I saw these guys on you tube. One was using a Vaquero and the other was using a Outlaw. I saw that you could measure depth and get probable ID on targets without a TiD meter. Anyway I hunt mainly (95%) in tot lots, sports fields( I like soccer fields the best), parking areas, volleyball courts, parks ect; I don't really see changing my hunting methods that I enjoy any at all. The Vaquero is built to last and Tesoro has the best warranty in the business. I looks like a easy enough to learn to use and man it is light to swing. Thaks for reading. CG

Good for you. I just added a Vaquero to my arsenal of detectors a month ago, and am very impressed with it. I've had a couple of other Tesoro land machines, a Cortes and a Golden Umax, and a few other brands but they just weren't quite what I needed- an easy to use machine for friends and family to use if they want to try detecting, plus a deep machine for me to use when hunting fields and woods. The Vaquero fits the bill perfectly. I love that it is so stable even at max sensitivity, and that I can tell depth by softness of sound. And pinpointing with it is a breeze.

Hey Cal good choice. The Vaquero appears to be the next machine I am adding to my arsenal of Tesoro's. Go to youtube and watch the Vaquero videos by 53Silver, you will be impressed and learn a lot about this detector.

Yes, thats the videos I watched that convinced that I did't have to have a TID machine. I also was impressed with the video comparison on the beach with the Deep Tech Gold, The Fisher Gold Bug, and the Vaquero. I did a very short hunt on tthe way home in a trashy park and it performed very good. I will give it a work out tomorrow a.m. Thanks for your advise. Cal

wow cal, your story mirrors mine to a tee! i've enjoyed the m6 as well but due to neck and shoulder issues it's starting to get to me, and also i was never really impressed with the m6 depth 4 maybe 5 inches at the most but typically 4", no matter what or where i hunted. so just won a bid on e-bay, sounds like it's a great condition. been reading the vaqeuro manual, it's pretty straight forward, from g.b.ing to super tuning, i've got high hopes for this machine, then i will probably sell the m6! will look forward to your experiences, keep us posted!

Hunt, I took the Vaquero out this morning to 3 tot lots (my place of choice was already filling up with ball coaches and helpers at 6:30 am) and found 14 quarters,7 dimes,6 nickels, and 23 penneys. I didn't find any jewelry other than one of those glass beads they overcharge you for at the store. Ground balance is easy enough as I did some on the grass also for practice. Pinpointing is going to take more practice as this machine is different than the M6,but not difficult. Iding a nickel is a snap, much better than the Tid machines I have used. I hope you in enjoy yours HH

pretty good amount of clad cal....hey, i always like to to pick up that kind of clad! already have scoped out some new places to hunt with the vaquero. should be here next week! HH
