Today's Civil War Finds & A Surprise
I started my day around 1:00 due to the cold weather. I went to my favorite detecting spot, with my wife and daughter in search of civil war relics. I have posted my CW finds below - 2 44 Colt's - 2 percussion caps - 2 small round balls and a flat button. My wife found a couple pieces of artillery fragments as well.
I also found 2 coins - I have found a couple of buffalo nickels and wheat pennies at this site so when i picked these 2 from the ground that is what I expected. When I began cleaning I discovered I had something a little more special - my first 1800's coins!! I had an 1883 V nickel and a 1879 Indian. The day could not have been better.
