Today's CW Find's along with my Second Bird Band

Break of dawn....Hit this new farm that had supposedly seen some troop movement during the Battle of Sharpsburg(Antietam).TY,Howard and I hit this place pretty hard but the only thing's I came up with was this bird band and at first was what I thought was a "bat wing"....No such luck!! Any Idea's?









Howard left so Ty and I headed to the field's at one my spot's to see if we could at least pull some lead.....mission accomplished.A .58..a .69 and .69 roundball...





Very frustrating but at least the back-up farm came through.......Thank's for looking and HH!!

Check with your Fish & Game/DNR or whatever your state calls it. They should be interested in the bands. Might even be a reward.

Nice hunt Cman! A second bird band with a bone attached. I have found several, many from the 60s but I think they are chicken bands with no bones attached, LOL. HH, Mike

I seem to remember some time ago, but not sure which forum, about a guy who was finding bird bands and he was able to trace them. Check with your local Department of Fish and Wildlife / Natural Resources and see if they can guide you in the right directio. This is information that they might want for their own records!

Bird Bands

Here is the deal with bird bands, If you write to the Department of Natural Resources and give them the band information and where it was located, they will send you back information on that bird. I don't believe you have to give them the tag. Congratulations!

Thank's Steve...the last one I found was a Red Tailed Hawk,this one here is a Racing Pigeon thank's to Justgeese...I looked up the link he provided and it's a Club out of Baltimore....Going to try and get in touch with them tommorrow.Here's the info on the hawk....
