I agree, have a couple things that look like that in away. How things going did the info help?I've been busy today on off here and tring to get ready for oystering coming up.Got me a pair of tongs built today though.Weather not to good sounding next few days.Like to catch the tide low and take ya.But I don't guess that will ever take place. So might just have to make a go at it anyway.

A stud from some horse tack. The two metal prongs on the back would be pushed through a hole in the leather and then folded down (like an old brass paper fastener) to hold the stud in place.

I thought that at first, but its a broken loop.

CC,
When the loop was intact, would there have been enough room to slide it on a strap of leather?
