Re: Today's finds

Did you just pluck those coins out of the bulk bins? 3cents a piece that is an amazing deal. The dollars you got for $1.25 I assume are bills correct? Again those are some nice coins for some low prices. Good job.

That is a damned good deal on those. I would have grabbed them up at that price. I am not a Penny Person but I am collecting Wheats when I find them, my oldest is a 1910.

My best pulls from Auctions have been

29 dimes, 19 quarters and two 90% halves for $82
Silver proof Alaska Quarter for $1
90% Half dollar for $1

Auctions can be good but they can also be a waste of time, last week I hit one and Mercury/Roosevelt dimes sold for $3.75 each.

You managed to get a 1954 silver dollar for $1.25, am i correct. If yes, then thats just an extreme luck. Melt value alone is about 18$ right now.
What is the coin condition.

Thats what I thought at first but I thought it over and remembered 1954 and 1973 are the series print date on the queen dollar bills. Canadian Hunter do you collect paper money? If you do I recommend you become friends with your tellers and get them to save old bills. I have essentially collected the entire bird series with the exception of the $50 and $1000. You might be surprised, if you have someone on the inside of the vault you will get quite a lot of nice paper finds. Also have them keep a close lookout for $1s and $2s to help save them from the shredder.

Re: Today's finds

I'm not that interested in paper currency collecting, however I have 3 old dollar bills that tellers saved for me one day. 1937, 1967 and 1973 I think i will sell them at some point to get some maple leafs or silver eagles.

i honestly do not know the values of these bills, but I could gladly provide a scan of each of them if anybody would want to see them :)

I bought them because I somewhat collect Canadian money, and they looked pretty cool, and for $1.25 each. :D
