I had a nice trip to hunt some new grass today with Pl8man and his son, (who had a nice find!) The first field we hit, I pulled a .925 sterling chain and a men's size Tungsten Carbide ring, which is my first find of that metal type. The second field I didn't score much, but over all I had over 10 dollars in clad. Found the cool lookin tourquoise rock on the grass.

I am also posting a few pics of a 14K gold ring and a silver ring that I found last month but never got around to posting them. The gold one is for auction on E-bay at this moment.

Thanks for stopping through! H.H!

awesome finds!, that tungsten carbide ring is sweet

eagleforce , what is the ring with the red stone in it made of ? Nice finds by the way ! Also how are you liking your MXT ?
(I'm liking mine !)

Big chunk of silver in that chain! Beautiful piece of rock, whatever it is. I was thinking maybe some type of jade? Also, what is that beautiful red stoned ring? The stone is beautiful.

Nice finds eagleforce.

Looks like the rock is chalcedony or a fluorite?

I think it is a brass ring Argentium. It has a 14K stamp, but its obviously not that. MXT is still bringin home the ritches , so I am happy!

Hey! That rock does look jade colored huh. The ring with the red stone is fake im sure. As the metal is brass or something.

For a Jade test, measure the weight of the rock and convert to grams. Place the rock in a measuring cup so that the rock is completely emersed, measure the difference in the height of the water when the rock is removed, and convert to milliliters. Divide the weight by the water displaced (grams/millimeter) to get the specific gravity (SG). SG = 3.1 is Jadeite Jade, most precious - the clearer, the better; SG = 2.9 is Nephrite Jade, not as precious and has asbestos as a base; SG = 2.5 is Agate.

Hope this helps,

Dick
